Granite Stone Countertops

Granite is one of the most beautiful choices for countertops. Granite has such a rich and elegant look. It is also one of the most unique looks considering each piece of Granite is different from the next one.

Granite is a natural stone and it is what nature makes it! The beauty of natural stone is its inconsistency in the patterns or colors of the product. The only way to alter the Granite is to cut the inconsistency out from the slab. We, however, have a solution;Showit off! This is your one in a million countertop that is made from a unique stone, like Granite, just for your kitchen, bath or office and yours alone!

Colors from one lot of Granite slab may and more than likely will be a different color than another due to where in the boulder it was cut from. Granite is mined from all parts of the world; India, Italy, Brazil, Portugal, China, Spain, Saudi Arabia and even in the United States.

Many Granite slabs may have different names for the same color, please call the office for the cross reference name and we will give you the other names the granite may be tagged with.

Almost all of the prefabricated Granite comes from China. Beware of this cheap alternative to custom Granite countertops! The lamination on prefab tops is mediocre at best and often the material used is grade B material and it looks it. The prefab Granite isn’t polished or factory filled correctly leaving it with lots of pits in it.

There are many misconceptions with Granite in comparison to a manmade Quartz product. Quartz is very color specific where Granite is not. Quartz isn’t nearly as heat resistant as Granite and isn’t as scratch resistant as Granite is. Quartz should only be used in an indoor application. If used outdoors it will fade or discolor, and can even warp. If using Granite in an outside application always remember that dark colors will attract heat and the stone will be very hot to the touch in full sun.

Granite is sealed and polished when it is delivered. We at Custom Stone Works seal your Granite countertops with a Premium sealerwhen the project has been completed.

Granite is the perfect choice for fireplace surrounds and all types of countertops; Kitchen, Bath, Outdoor Entertaining, Office, etc. Let your imagination and the highly educated and trained consultants at Custom Stone Works plan your next countertop project.
